The 2023 BMW X3 is a mid-size SUV that combines the versatility of an SUV with the style of a sedan. This latest entrant in the X3 range brings a variety of new and exciting features to a well-known and respected model. We’d like to tell you more about what you can expect from your X3.

Trim Levels

The X3 is available in two trim levels: the 30I and the M40I. Additionally, the 30I can change the standard rear-wheel drive for an all-wheel drivetrain.

Engine and Transmission

The 30I boasts a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 248hp of power. This power is sufficient to take you from 0 to 60mph in roughly 6.2 seconds. If your looking for even more power, the M40I option provides a 3.0 liter 6-cylinder inline turbocharged engine that produces 382hp with ease. It can take you from 0 to 60mph in 4.1 seconds.

Both engines are paired with the standard, trusted BMW 8-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel Economy

Every driver enjoys the feeling of a powerful and responsive engine, but how efficient is it to run? BMW has been a leader in fuel efficiency, and the 2023 X3 doesn’t disappoint. The rear-wheel drive 30I achieves 23MPG in the city and 29MPG on the highway. Choosing the all-wheel drive option slightly reduces this performance to 21MPG in the city and 28MPG on the highway.

The M40I’s more powerful engine maintains a healthy 21MPG in the city and 26MPG on the highway.

Interior

The X3 has a spacious interior with extra headroom in the front seat. The cabin is comfortable and serviced with tri-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic moonroof, and rear sunshades. Push button start and proximity keyless entry are standard on both trim levels. Nickel-finish metal, faux-leather dash trim, and glossy woodgrain trim add additional touches of luxury and refinement.

The front seats feature 10-way adjustable seating and adjustable side bolsters. Rear seating features reclining seatbacks and extra padding.

Infotainment

BMW’s iDrive infotainment system features a 10.3-inch display and in-dash navigation. A 12-speaker stereo and two USB ports are also standard. You have the option to upgrade the standard screen to a 12.3-inch, add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, increase the stereo to a 16-speaker, and install a wireless charging system.

Cargo Capacity

As an SUV, cargo capacity is an important consideration, and the X3 delivers. With all the seats up, it has 28.7 cubic feet of space. Folding down the rear seats increases this capacity to 62.7 cubic feet. This translates into seven carry-on and twenty carry-on bags respectively.
