1. M4 Coupe

Engine Specs and Capabilities

The entry-level BMW M4 Coupe offers drivers a three-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine with two mono-scroll turbochargers, high-precision direct injection, and variable valve control. This engine grants the Coupe an impressive 473 horsepower. The sports car comes equipped with a track-ready cooling system, the engine is automatic Start-Stop, and the Coupe is meticulously designed for optimized aerodynamics. The Coupe is the only trim that offers drivers a manual transmission.

Handling Capabilities

The Coupe boasts Servotronic electric power steering and the M Driving Dynamics Control system. The intensive suspension and front subframes are both made with high-quality aluminum and the M-exclusive adaptive suspension includes an electronically-controlled damper.

The four-wheel antilock disc brakes have a supplemental Dynamic Brake Control program, and the Coupe features a double-joint spring strut front axle with a five-link rear axle. The Coupe’s onboard Dynamic Stability Control system includes a Start-off Assistant, Brake Fade Compensation, brake stand-by features, and a Brake Drying program.

2. M4 Competition Coupe

The second trim level in the lineup has everything the base model Coupe has aside from a STEPTRONIC automatic transmission and an even more impressive horsepower of 503. The Competition Coupe brings larger wheels to the table as well as a stylish Shadowline exterior trim with the mirror caps, the rear apron, and the exhaust tips trimmed in a glossy black finish. The Competition Coupe features a unique M4 Competition logo on the exterior.

3. M4 Competition xDrive Coupe

The final trim in the M4 lineup keeps the STEPTRONIC auto transmission and the 503 horsepower but adds an xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The xDrive is the fastest of all three, boasting an acceleration speed of 0 to 60 miles per hour in a snappy 3.4 seconds.

Common Features Shared by All M4 Trims

All three of the trims come with the Connected Package Professional as a standard feature. This package includes real-time traffic and street parking information, an Intelligent Personal Assistant voice control program, the Hazard Preview system, and BMW’s Remote Services program. Remote Services includes the My BMW app, Remote Door Unlock, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery. The cabin of all three models features a surround-sound system with a 464-watt amplifier and 16 speakers.
