4 Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Fayetteville, NC

In spring, Fayetteville, NC, is the place to be, boasting a calendar full of exciting events and festivals packed with spring activities! Load your family and friends in a spacious and luxurious BMW X3 and hit the road to join all the festive celebrations happening all around the city.

1. Dogwood Festival

The 41st Dogwood Festival, between April 27 and 30, is the most exciting happening on Fayetteville’s event calendar, boasting a plethora of spectacular events and extraordinary entertainment over four days in Festival Park at 335 Ray Avenue and down Hay Street. Watch David Nail and Ashland Craft on the stage in Festival Park on Friday night, April 28, and the spectacular fireworks show afterward.

Enjoy Ferris and carousel rides in the Masonic Lodge parking lot and fun kid activities from 5 to 9 p.m. every day in Festival Park. On Saturday afternoon, April 29, there’s ax-throwing on Gillespie Street, a street fair, a wrestling tournament and a BMX show down Hay Street, and a free live music concert featuring Buckcherry and Lit in Festival Park. Don’t miss the Car, Motorcycle, and Truck Show between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. 

2. Cape Fear Soap Box Derby

Head to 1960 Coliseum Drive in Fayetteville on April 29 for the first annual Cape Fear Soap Box Derby. It has been almost half a century since a Soap Box Derby was held in Fayetteville, but this year, the derby is back and will become an annual event every spring. There are different classes for ages 7 to 13 and 9 to 18. The winners will participate in the Soap Box Derby World Championship final in July in Akron, Ohio.

3. Gardenmania

Gardenmania at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens at 536 North Eastern Boulevard in Fayetteville on May 6 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. is a celebration of horticulture and gardening. You don’t need a green thumb to learn more about beautifying your outdoor space from horticultural experts at the Gardenmania presentations and workshops.

Stroll through the breathtaking botanical gardens filled with spring blooms, bees, and butterflies to get inspiration for your own garden and buy beautiful plants from the vendors. 

4. Fort Bragg Fair

Enjoy unlimited carnival rides, live entertainment, and mouthwatering festival foods from May 3 to 14 at the annual Fort Bragg Fair on the Fort Bragg Fairgrounds at 1500 Howell Street in Fort Bragg, 11.4 miles from Fayetteville.

The spectacular event is known for its assortment of rides, including over 28 vintage carnival rides, family-friendly activities, and live entertainment and music; all included in one admission price. The gates open Monday to Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.
