When you think of a great venue for music, you usually don’t think of a tobacco company, but that’s exactly what you get with Anstead’s. Not only does it have a full-service bar, smoking lounge, and epic humidor, but it also hosts live tunes. The space is cozy and comfortable with plush sofas to relax on as you puff on a cigar and take in the tunes. Anstead’s is an institution in the area.

3. Paddy’s Irish Public House

Paddy’s is a classic Irish Pub that is great on any day of the year, not just St. Patrick’s Day. They have a massive selection of beer as you’d expect and they encourage you to drink early and often while you play darts, watch sports, or embarrass yourself over Karaoke. It also makes a great spot for live tunes, and you’ll catch some great bands serenading the loyal patrons from time to time. Please don’t drink and drive.

4. The Ice House Theatre

Located in the Ice and Coal building, this cool venue prides itself on having live country bands perform every Friday night without exception. It’s a family-run business that will make you feel right at home when you stop by for a night of down-home rockin’ fun. It’s a clean building with fantastic acoustics that really help the music shine. The food here is delicious so be sure to bring an appetite. They also have special events throughout the year.

5. Koka Booth Amphitheatre

Koka Booth is a colossal amphitheater that’s home to concerts, festivals, and the NC Symphony. The atmosphere is amazing and you’re in for an fun night anytime you come during the season which runs from April until October. It’s the perfect venue to bring the family to, and the scenery in the surrounding area is awesome. There’s ample parking on-site and friendly staff to get you headed in the right direction.
